Time Manufacturing Company acquired Aspen Aerials in 2018 and since has established upfit, sales, and service locations utilizing its 300,000 ft2 Versalift Export facility in Farsoe, Denmark. The team headquarters out of Denmark has vast experience selling and servicing Versalift Aerial Devices both in Europe and for export to the rest of the world (ROW). A recent article from the UK periodical, The Construction Index reported the order of a European Aspen A-62 by Facelift, the Sussex based up-fitter recently taken over by AFI-UPFIT. The Versalift Aspen A-62 will be added to Facelift’s rental inventory as early as October 2021.
In keeping with the Time Manufacturing Company mission of safety and efficiency, the Aspen A-62 has the advantage of operating within a single lane of a bridge. Because this unit is designed for use without outriggers, and all counterweights stay within the width of the truck body, it does not impede the flow of vehicle or pedestrian traffic. This is especially important for road conditions on Europe’s narrow transitways.
Bridge Inspection Truck Features – The European Aspen A-62
Aspen Aerials is the industry-leading bridge inspection truck manufacturer in the United States. The American-made Aspen A-62, which was exported and is reconfigured and mounted on a Volvo FM 420 8×4 sleeper cab, has been adapted for the European market by Versalift. This versatile Aspen A-62 has an interchangeable inspection basket and work platform allowing one unit to do all of the work needed to improve the safety of European bridges. Aspen A-62 bridge inspection units have a horizontal under-bridge reach of 18.8 metres, a vertical downward reach of 20.6 metres and a basket capacity of 272 kg. This unit has a three-stage gantry walkway with 680 kg (five person) capacity, and a movable step-up platform mounted on railing. Two rotating turntables and multiple articulating and telescoping booms provide unparalleled versatility for technicians to access challenging workspaces.
